Instagram decided to follow in TikTok's footsteps and began testing full-screen content display on the smartphone app.
For those who start receiving the update, the full-screen feed will appear as soon as the application is launched, with photos and videos taking up all the space on the cell phone screen (like what happens on TikTok). Instagram reinforces that this is a test, which should take a few weeks to complete, and that it wants feedback from users, saying whether they liked the change or not.
The change does not mean that Instagram has decided to abandon Stories, it is only triggered when the user is not dragging the screen up or down.
According to the publication, Stories are currently the main source of revenue for the social image network, in its movement to prioritize videos and original content creators.
