The platform released a new option for scheduling live broadcasts, where users can select to receive a notification with a reminder on the day. A new Live test mode was also announced, which allows you to check all conditions, without going live to the public.
Live streaming can be scheduled up to 90 days in advance, so content creators can have time to engage their audience while sharing event news in their feed and Stories. It is worth remembering that Facebook itself has this type of resource, as do competing platforms YouTube and TikTok.
To schedule a live, simply access the “Live” option and tap the “Schedule” button, accompanied by a calendar icon. In this section it will also be possible to change the name and cancel the transmission at any time, in addition to sharing it on the main feed more easily.
In addition, Instagram announced a new option for testing live broadcasts, which allows users to check various issues that can influence Live – such as lighting and interaction with the camera (among many others) – without actually broadcasting.
It will also be possible to do live practice with the public, or possibly select some users, which is interesting for testing other important technical issues, such as connection quality.
